The first annual "Hearts of Hope" event is the collaborative effort of the Califon United Methodist Church and the merchants of Califon. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Michael Hafke Foundation. Mike Hafke, a 19 year veteran of the Clinton Twp. police force, is the father of three. He served in the Iraq War and is a veteran of the NJ National Guard.
The "Hearts of Hope" event will be held on Main Street in downtown Califon and on the grounds of the Califon United Methodist, located on the river at 15 River Road—bring your fishing pole—trout season is open! The dancers will also perform excerpts from Andrea's original musical "Afternoon Tea with Remarkable Women" accompanied by Christ Warren on keyboard. Dixie Highway will perform bluegrass music.
