The first annual "Hearts of Hope" event is the collaborative effort of the Califon United Methodist Church and the merchants of Califon.  Proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Michael Hafke Foundation.  Mike Hafke, a 19 year veteran of the Clinton Twp. police force, is the father of three.  He served in the Iraq War and is a veteran of the NJ National Guard.

The "Hearts of Hope" event will be held on Main Street in downtown Califon and on the grounds of the Califon United Methodist, located on the river at 15 River Road—bring your fishing pole—trout season is open!  Refreshments will be available for sale from the Moms Club, have your car washed by Califon Boy Scout Troop 192.  There will be face painting, photo taking at the petting zoo (hosted by the girl scouts), and flea market and craft tables featuring a wide variety of goods for sale.  There will also be a Silent Auction at 5:00 pm and fifty/fifty raffle.  Donations for the silent auction are still welcome

Untamed and Voice Odyssey, both from the Hunterdon Harmonizers, will be strolling the streets.  Califon resident, Andrea Kramer's dancers will perform, and visual artist, Christine Carter, will do watercolor sketches of the dancers in motion.  Alex Rades will accompany the dancers on guitar.  The dancers will also perform excerpts from Andrea's original musical "Afternoon Tea with Remarkable Women" accompanied by Christ Warren on keyboard.  Dixie Highway will perform bluegrass music.  The NJ Arts Collaborative will be represented as well as The Bikes Lanes Movement.  Solaris Gallery on Main Street will have an "opening".

Please contact event coordinators Kathy DeBlasio of Main Street Frame Shop at 832.2370 or Ella Rue of the Califon United Methodist Church at 908.500.6925 for more information.
